Warm Weather helps ripen strawberries

Friday, May 15
It’s warm today! The strawberry plants and fruit are enjoying a day full of sunshine and warmth.
We were able to pick another 8 quarts of strawberries this morning and they have all been sold. The you pick will not be open this weekend, but we do have our homemade ice cream, strawberry and vanilla, in pints available for sale as well as our homemade fudges in several flavors including strawberry cheesecake and strawberry shortcake! Contact us if you would like to stop when you are out running weekend errands.

Please keep watching for updates on the strawberries and the patch. It is difficult to know how many strawberries and which rows will be ripe and ready to be picked each day, so the best thing is to check late in the afternoon or early in the morning for an update on the next ay!🍓

Thank you for your patience as we wait for more strawberries to grow and ripen!! Please remember that we will be scheduling appointments this year for the you pick and following other rules as provided by the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

Thank you for your patience! The odd weather pattern has been very difficult to plan and open a you-pick operation! We are starting to schedule appointments for Saturday, May 23 and Monday, Memorial Day. It is important that you review our 2020 picking policies prior to making an appointment. I will have them posted on the blog by 12:30 today. The scheduling site is: http://www.libertymillsfarmscheduling.as.me/

Let us know if you have any questions!!
